Something Brand New – Poetry Reading 1

I host weekly Zoom meetings with about 20-25 people in attendance and so do a lot of public speaking these days. Actually, I’ve been speaking in public for many years as I’m not shy in the least and if I can get an audience I’ll take advantage of them.

So – with that, I thought I’d try something new with this blog – I’ll read and record poetry and short stories and post them on here for, perhaps, a small break from the day for our readers. Maybe you’ll listen on a commute, when bored or just to hear me screw up sometimes (that will happen). I hope you enjoy this and let me know what you think in your comments please.

Here is piece by Claude McKay, born Festus Claudius McKay in Sunny Ville, Jamaica in 1889, who was a key figure in the Harlem Renaissance, a prominent literary movement of the 1920s. From: <https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/claude-mckay>
